Teams
Run a clipper team or join one, and how commissions work
Teams are optional. A captain runs a team and earns a commission on each member's payouts. Members get a captain who can offer guidance, assets, and direction. The dashboard works fully without a team.
Should you join one?
Teams make sense if you're new and want guidance, want a community, or the captain provides assets and briefings worth the cut. They don't if the value isn't there. You can use CLIPPING fully without ever joining one.
If you're a member
The Teams page shows a Your team information card with your captain's username and a note to reach out to them on Discord for team details, commission info, and support.
The page header also has a Create your own team button if you'd like to start one yourself.
Where's the commission rate?
Members don't see the rate on this page. Ask your captain on Discord, or check your Payments page after a payout to see the gross, the commission cut, and the net you actually receive.
If you're a captain
You'll see a captain dashboard with three sections:
Summary cards
- Commission — your current team commission percentage
- Campaigns — accessible campaign scope
- Team members — current member count
Info cards
- Commission rate — your current rate with a Manage rate button to edit it
- Referral link — a copyable link that ties new signups to your team for 7 days
Members table
A roster of everyone on the team with two columns: Name and Role (Captain or Member). You can search the roster from the page header.
Creating a team
If you don't have one, click Create Team on the empty state. The dialog asks for a single thing: your commission rate (between 5% and 10%, default 5%). CLIPPING auto-generates your invite code. There's no team name field.
When you submit, you become the captain and your referral link is ready to share.
Editing commission
In the Commission rate card, click Manage rate to open the Edit commission dialog. Enter a new value between 5 and 10. The new rate applies to subsequent payout cycles.
Commission is locked between 5% and 10%
Values outside this range are rejected. Pick a rate that's fair to your members; too high and they won't stick around.
Sharing the referral link
Copy the referral link from the Referral link card and share it. Anyone who signs up through that link within 7 days is automatically added to your team. There is no separate join screen for new users; the attribution happens at signup.
No remove or leave buttons
The current Teams page doesn't expose a way to remove a member or leave a team from the dashboard. For roster changes, contact support or coordinate with your captain on Discord.
Joining a team
You don't manually click Join anywhere. A captain shares their referral link, you sign up through it, and you're attached to their team automatically as long as you sign up within 7 days of opening the link.
If you signed up without a referral link, you're not on a team, and the Teams page will show the empty state with a Create Team button.
